About the Game of Life
The Game of Life is a cellular automaton devised by the British mathematician John Horton Conway in 1970. It is the best-known example of a "cellular automaton". -from Wikipedia
My version of the Game of Life implements the original 23/3 rules, which are:
- For a populated cell:
- If there are 1 or fewer neighbours the cell dies, as from lonliness
- If there are 2-3 neighbours, the cell survives
- If there are 4 or more neighbours the cell dies, as from overpopulation
- For an unpopulated cell:
- If there are exactly three neighbours, the cell becomes populated
