Another great album from Marina V!
The album has a dreamy, emotional feel, well suited to the title. The songs
are all deeply personal, largely based on Marina’s experiences in touring
and in growing up; the one fictional song on the album, Rain on the
Butterfly, is based on a drawing by a friend’s child.
In some tracks Marina’s vocals are hauntingly reminiscent of Kate Bush,
providing a counterbalance to the powerful, raw emotion shown in other parts
of the album.
This is an incredible album overall, one of her best. I’m glad I had the opportunity to help sponsor the making of the album; there’s something special about being able to help create something beautiful.
